A little sensitivity here
If we’re remarking on senseless tragedies like the Colorado shooting with, “Where’s your god now?” — that’s no better than the Christian who instantly says, “Everything happens for a reason.”
Neither of these are helpful. It’s more comforting to believe God is there with them, not less. And yes, everything happens for a reason, but you don’t get to tell these people what it is.
Now is not the time to shove an agenda down peoples’ throats. People were killed. This actually happened. Pray for them, love on them. Spread peace. This should be more reason for grace, not more reason for division.
And since I realize the self-defeating tone here, I love you guys too.
